7/7 - Ten years on
The worst day in post-war London followed one of the best (winning the 2012 olympic bid).
What are your memories of that horrible day?

I was on a work day down in Surrey, where we all had to turn our mobiles off. My family couldn't get hold of me for a couple of hours until I turned it on about 11.00am. Don't like to think of what they were going through.

RIP to the 52. If there is a hell, those four cunts will be burning for all eternity.

That's a splendid poem, but the first line doesn't seem to fit.

Visiting my mum in Peterboro and having just returned from the States.
I confess I laughed.
The Luftwaffe tried
the IRA tried.
Did that really think that they could bomb London into submission?
I confess I laughed.

Got off the Virgin train at Euston and had to walk. Stepped out in front of a bus trying to leave the station. He stopped and so opened his doors again and some more people piled on.

Walked down woburn Place with the traffic edging along then decided to turn left down Woburn Walk and zig zag my way towards Holborn. 30 seconds later the bomb went off. Sort of worried ever since that the bus may have been the one that I caused some more people to get on.

The day before, I can remember the Olympics being announced and within minutes the Red Arrows flew over and I had a fantastic view from my office window. The next day, I was in the office at 7am (near London Wall) and we had the BBC news on. One by one, the BBC were reporting failures on the Tube. I just knew it wasn't right that different tube lines were having problems, so I text home and said I was in the office and OK. Obviously the news of the bombings was unfolding, but going out onto the street, there was the noise of the sirens, helicopters hovering over, people walking by in a fast manner. In the office, I was told to keep away from the windows and people weren't turning up for work. I was asked to cover other depts, and ended up leaving at 6pm.
I just wanted to go home to my loved ones that morning, I felt sick inside my stomach, but at least I could go home, not like those who suffered and died that morning.
